 Job Description:  

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your main focus will be to test, repair, adjust and service all types of electronic and electrical equipment in the shop or field. This position works in the close proximity to line high voltage equipment.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test equipment to determine extent of damage and nature of repairs required.
  • Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to determine material or replacement needs, assembly specifications, and methods.
  • Plan details of working procedures, determine tools and material requirements, and implement plan.
  • Locate source of trouble in electrical equipment or apparatus by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for operating failure.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace or adjust faulty parts and wiring on electrical equipment such as motors, generators, air compressors, relay and control equipment, panel boards, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, resistance banks and electric trucks.

 

 
 
 Qualifications:  
  • Industrial Electrician Trade Certificate for Manitoba is required
  • MUST have Inter provincial Red Seal Certification
  • Previous experience with troubleshooting skills combined with experience in preventative maintenance, cranes and PLCs is a plus.
  • The ability to work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.
  • Experience using the following tools/equipment: wiring diagrams, drawings, calibrating and testing equipment, gauges, electrical and electronic tools, hand tools, pipe threading machine, drafting equipment, soldering iron, various types of wire, bolts, taps, wrenches, pillars, etc.
  • Experience working with the following: AC and DC motors and generators, transformers, rectifiers, electronic controls and regulators, control systems and circuits, control panels, electronic gauges and detectors, circuit breakers, transistors, various mill and production equipment, conduit and fittings, wire and cable, solder, etc.
  • The ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • The ability to follow all safety guidelines.
